Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival in Serbia

Welcome to Serbia! Upon arrival at Nikola Tesla Airport in Belgrade, we’ll pick you up and take you straight into the Serbian countryside. Our first stop will be a beautiful winery, where you’ll enjoy a delightful lunch followed by a charming wine tasting experience. Afterwards, we’ll drive you to your accommodation.

The total driving time from the airport to your accommodation is about 2 hours, excluding the time we’ll spend at the winery.

Once you arrive at the accommodation, it’s time to relax! The rest of the day is reserved for resting up and getting ready for an amazing week on horseback.

Day 2 - Ranch to Rajac Mountain

Good morning, cowboys and cowgirls! Breakfast is served at 7:00 AM every morning. After breakfast, your guide will pick you up and bring you to our ranch. Please make sure your bags are packed and ready to go each morning. Our logistics team will transport them to your next accommodation, so you can ride light and enjoy the day.

Starting early gives us plenty of time to get settled, adjust the tack to your comfort, and meet your loyal companion for the week ahead. Once everything is ready, we set off towards the majestic Rajac Mountain.

To kick things off in style, our first ride is a full day in the saddle, around 6-7 hours. Rajac Mountain is officially recognized as a “predeo izuzetnih odlika”, which translates to “a landscape of exceptional qualities”. And once you reach the top, you’ll understand exactly why.

The trail features two major climbs, rewarding you with breathtaking scenery every step of the way. We’ll pass through shady forest paths and rolling terrain, with plenty of opportunities to enjoy the rhythm of the ride. At the summit, the landscape opens into wide, open meadows, perfect for an exhilarating gallop that truly makes you feel like you’re on top of the world.

Around halfway, we’ll pause for a picnic lunch, taking a 1-1.5 hour break to relax and recharge. Earlier in the ride, we also pass a small local shop, an ideal spot to stock up on water or grab a quick snack before continuing.

The highest point of Rajac Mountain reaches an elevation of 848 meters! We’ll give you the opportunity to pause here, to admire the sweeping views and snap some stunning photos before continuing.

Once we arrive at the accommodation, it’s time for a well-deserved shower and a delicious local dinner, lovingly prepared by the host. This accommodation is called Stari Konak, located in the village of Ba. Remember to keep your unpacking light: your luggage should be packed and ready to go the next morning!

Day 3 - Rajac Mountain to Koštunići River

This is the day most of our riders describe as their absolute favorite. After a hearty breakfast, we saddle up for an unforgettable 6-8 hours on horseback. The beginning of the ride takes us to the historic region of Ravna Gora, where we pause for a well-deserved picnic lunch among monuments that carry deep meaning in Serbian history. Here, at the Memorial Centre and the Church of Saint George, you can admire sweeping views over valleys and ridgelines while walking among memorials dedicated to Draža Mihailović and the stories of the Second World War. It is a place where nature and history intertwine, inviting you to explore, reflect, and take in the beauty all around.

After a refreshing 1.5-2 hour break, we face the day’s big climb from Ravna Gora into the Maljen area. The terrain becomes wilder and more dramatic, and this is where the adventure truly begins. As we ride into the rolling Maljen hills, one of the most scenic parts of the entire trail, you’ll want your camera, drone, or GoPro at the ready, as the landscapes open into wide, breathtaking panoramas. Our goal is the famous viewpoint of Rior, which requires a challenging but rewarding hike. The rocky, steep trail means we dismount and lead our horses to protect them, while we climb on foot. Sturdy shoes and a good level of fitness are essential, but the effort is more than worth it: from the top, a spectacular open plateau unfolds, followed by the thrill of a long, free gallop across the hills, a true highlight of the journey.

As we leave the beautiful Maljen hills behind, we approach our next accommodation: Eko-selo Koštunići, a charming eco village nestled between the slopes of Suvobor and Maljen. This magical place offers traditional wooden houses, serene lakes perfect for swimming, and unspoiled nature that seems to slow down time. In the evening, you can take a dive into the river, watch the sunset reflect on the hills, and savor a dinner of authentic local specialties. If you’ve never tried kajmak before (the creamy Serbian delicacy), this is the perfect introduction. Surrounded by warm hospitality, rustic charm, and the pure mountain air, it’s the ideal way to end a day filled with adventure, history, and wonderful landscapes.

Day 4 - Koštunići River to Ozrem

We will enjoy our breakfast all together on the wonderful terrace, taking in the fresh mountain air before saddling up for another 6-7 hours on horseback. Today’s route takes us once more towards Rajac Mountain, but this time we approach it from the other side. We ride through the picturesque villages of Brajići and Polom, following peaceful forest paths that lead us to two significant climbs. The first brings us up to Brajići, after which we descend along a river and give our horses a short 5-minute break to drink. From here, we tackle the second climb towards Polom, where the wide forest roads invite us to stretch out into exhilarating gallops. Beyond Polom, we follow a beautiful new trail across Rajac Mountain, different from the one we explored on our first day of riding.

At the summit of Rajac, we pause for a picnic lunch with stunning views that make the climb worthwhile. Once rested, we continue our journey towards the village of Ozrem, where our next accommodation awaits at Etno Selo Trbović. Here you can once again cool off with a swim, this time not in a river, but in a refreshing pool. As evening falls, we gather for a delicious dinner and then settle into well-deserved rest after another amazing day in the saddle.

Day 5 - Ozrem to Trudelj

Day 5 begins with a nourishing breakfast to energize us for the adventures ahead. Today, our trail takes us toward the charming village of Trudelj, but before we reach it, three climbs await. Our journey starts with a gentle ascent through the village called Ručići, followed by a climb in the village of Cerova.

The grand finale of the day is the climb to Ostrvica, a striking dormant volcano on the edge of the Rudnik Mountain. Ostrvica’s distinctive pyramid-shaped peak dominates the landscape, noticeable from miles away. Its dramatic rocky slopes have earned it the nickname the “Serbian Machu Picchu.”

This is the perfect spot to pause, soak in the scenery, and enjoy a relaxing lunch surrounded by nature. After taking in the stunning vistas, we continue to our accommodation for the night: Vila Milica. Arriving here feels like coming home. The villa’s warm hospitality and idyllic surroundings create the ideal atmosphere to relax after a full day in the saddle. Vila Milica not only offers stunning views but also a refreshing pool, perfect for a late-afternoon swim. For those who want to keep the fun going, there are pool and ping pong tables, making it a wonderful spot to share laughter, unwind, and enjoy the evening together.

Day 6 - Trudelj to Ranch

Our final day in the saddle is crafted to be truly unforgettable! We set off from Vila Milica, riding across wide open meadows and weaving through enchanting forests, soaking in the beauty of nature at its very best. Along the way, there will be chances for some joyful canters, perfect moments to feel the freedom of the trail one last time before our break.

Around midday, we’ll pause for a delightful picnic lunch at our friend’s charming village home. Refreshed and recharged, we’ll continue our journey on a spectacular stretch of road made for a thrilling, extended gallop. From there, the trail leads us through peaceful woodlands before opening up into a vast meadow with breathtaking panoramic views. It’s the perfect setting to take in the scenery, capture a few photos, and reflect on the adventures of the past days.

From this beautiful point, we gently make our way back to the ranch, carrying with us the memories, laughter, and excitement of a wonderful trail.

Day 7 - Farewell

After breakfast, it’s time to say our goodbyes. We’ll bring you back to the airport, sending you home with countless memories, new friendships, and (we hope) a big smile.
